HOW TO CREATE ADS THAT HAVE IMPACT

We all know that the ad you decide to run in your favorite magazine, newspaper, or on the internet must have impact, or it will fall by the wayside, ignored, neglected, and sometimes even scorned.
That's right, did you know that a poorly conceived advertisement can have a negative effect on your business? You'd be better off not running an ad than running a bad one.

Creating successful ads is not an easy task. It takes hard work and loads of experience. You should rely on a professional to create your ads. Still, if you're willing to give it go...

Here are 3 ways that can help you craft an ad that has impact:

  1.  Headline Happiness. Use a headline that resonates. Your headline must attract attention if you want people to continue to read the rest of the ad. Your headline has to be strong enough to grab your potential client by the collar and drag him into the copy. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words, but a smashing headline could be worth a thousand clients.
  2. Promises, Promises. The best ads promise something to the client. Otherwise, why would anyone pay attention to it? You don't have to be obvious and say, "We promise... blah, blah, blah." You can be more subtle, but your promise must be in the copy.
  3. Gotcha Graphics. Okay, this is where the picture comes into play. Whatever you do, don't use graphics that contain a subtle message. I've seen it all too often where the designer or owner want to get artsy-fartsy and they use an illustration that requires Sherlock Holmes to figure out the meaning. Potential clients don't want to guess what you're trying to communicate. They don't have the time or patience. If your message is unclear, you'll lose them. Your graphic or illustration has to have spot-on significance to make it easy for your potential client to be willing to read the copy.
Good luck with that next ad. Oh, and if you're the kind of person that has trouble writing, even when spending hours at the computer. Or, if you're one of those that knows what you want to say, only it doesn't come out the way you want it to and you feel frustrated like this guy illustrated here:

Then perhaps you'll want to take after those smart business professionals that would rather do what they do best and let a professional marketing strategist handle the job of their advertising. Help is just a click away. Click here!
